I was told by my doctor yesterday that I need a hysterectomy.  I have been having incredible pain for nearly 10 years because of fibroid tumors in my uterus and I was just diagnosed with a cyst on my ovary.  The cyst needs to be removed and examined, and the doctor said I really need the hysterectomy.  I know that the hospital will work with me on a payment plan.  My problem is, the doctor wants his entire fee upfront.  I have no insurance, a new small business that doesn't make much money, and two teenagers at home.  I'm separated from my husband.  I qualify for Medicaid, but the program I qualify for does not help until I've accumulated the bills, and then it's based on some weird scale.  So, I can get some assistance once I've had the surgery, but I can't have the surgery until I've paid in full.  You see my problem!  If anyone knows of any organization that can help me, please let me know.
